Watering & Feeding the Backyard Jungle Across the Dry
People often ask how I keep everything so green and growing out here in the NT heat — so here’s a quick look at my watering and fertilising routine that keeps the wicking beds pumping!
Monday:
I top up all the wicking beds, making sure those reservoirs are full and ready to keep the roots hydrated through the week. While I’m at it, I add about 100ml of seaweed solution to each reservoir — it’s like a multivitamin for the plants!
Wednesday:
I do a quick top water — especially good for the seedlings and leafy greens that like a little extra love.
Once a month on a Wednesday, I also give everything a solid feed with Rooster Booster to keep the nutrients flowing and the growth strong.
This simple rhythm works wonders and keeps the garden happy — even in our dry season heat!
