The Joys (and Slight Chaos) of Growing Your Own Food
One of the best things about gardening is the pure satisfaction of growing your own food — watching something go from seed to plate, right in your own backyard. But sometimes… things get a bit out of hand
This season, I may have slightly overdone it on the tomatoes — with six different varieties going absolutely wild
And the chillis? Let’s just say the heat is well and truly ON
– A tonne of ghost chillis and bird's eye chillis
– A few bishop crown chillis (mild, tasty, and totally underrated!)
– A couple of Santa Fe Grandé chillis that are thriving
– Two beautiful capsicums looking proud and plump
– And after a long wait, I finally picked my first ever Jalapeños and Bulgarian Carrot chillis — couldn’t resist!
Sometimes the garden gives you more than you bargained for, but honestly… it’s a good problem to have. There’s nothing quite like sharing, preserving, or cooking up a storm with what you’ve grown yourself
