Banana Dreams Coming True in Barry’s Backyard!
Growing bananas has always been one of those big backyard dreams of mine — and I finally went for it back in late November 2024 when I planted 9 banana trees across the yard
I’ve got a mix of:
Lady Fingers
Cavendish
And a small, super sweet Thai variety (can’t wait to taste those!)
And guess what? Two of them are flowering already!
Yep — those iconic banana bells are finally showing, and I’m stoked
Since planting, I’ve been keeping it simple but consistent:
A deep watering once a week through the dry
A monthly feed of Rooster Booster at the base to keep them happy and growing strong
Watching these trees grow from pups into full-on banana powerhouses is something special — and I can’t wait to share the bunches with friends, family, and maybe even a few curious followers!
